Beos 50 Professional Iso Download

BeOS was an OS developed to run on the BeBox hardware, a PowerPC based machine. The OS was first released in October 1995 for use on the AT&T Hobbit, and later moved over to the PowerPC platform the next year.

OK, take 2 headache tablets now, coz you'll have one very soon! :)

Date 12/1/06:
Bochs 2.2.5 win32 binary from SF & also compiled from 2.2.5 source using cygwin (OK)
(Running on Win2K Pro, AMD Athlon 1300, 256MB DDR, 40GB IDE, Digimate mobo, Elsa Synergy II (Riva TnT) gfx, yada yada.)

problem

Initially, BeOS 5 developer (from beosonline.com) bootstrap / boot loader is successful. (floppy or CD boot)
However, during launch I keep getting the same error, after the 4th icon lights up, regardless of boot media:

Bochs does not panic, or even hang, but continues to execute perfectly (running kdebug> commands). I would just like to know if there is something can be done to bring BeOS 'up'. I believe it has been accomplished before, and I have had more success than this before now. (older versions lit all but one icon, but bugged out saying it couldnt read the CD - thats really why I kept trying alternate media, drives, asking in the forums about CDROM support, but I got past that part now.)

I've been trying since v1.4.1 to get BeOS (R4, R4.5 and R5 dev ed) to work in bochs, unsuccesfully.
I would like to see it running on SGI/IRIX 6.5, but I will settle for any host platform right now. Love dont change free mp3 download.

Asus a53u network controller driver. I'm trying to get my laptop to connect to the internet wirelessly but I can't track down this driver anywhere. I've uninstalled the driver in hopes that Windows will download it on startup but it can never find it. I didn't get anything searching Asus A53U-ES01, but you should be.

Two things I've noticed in the forums:
(1) my own messages about CDROM support (from attempting to use different boot media / disc images etc), and the response to another person's unrelated post, where it was stated that 'image.be' perhaps doesn't contain a partition table
(Image.be is supposedly a BeFS volume, that constitutes track 2 of the BeOS 5 dev ed CD);
?

(2) Old BeOS didnt run on MMX/SSE CPUs, whereas the newer R5 developer edition should (it actually does run on real h/ware). I havent recompiled to disable these MMX/SSE extensions yet - since my OS should work on them - maybe I should
?

I have tried booting my OS in safemode, disabling everything possible but still the same error.
(n.b. EIP is always the same) As you can see in my config below, I've been running the redhat image; its fine, even in X.

Just trying to pin this down as either a Bochs or BeOS error,
or hopefully just maybe it's somewhere between the keyboard and the chair!? :)

To be honest, I also got the NetBSD (v3.0 i386 port) install cd to boot, run setup, format the hd image, and gloriously fail at the point where it supposed to start copying packages from the cdrom again. (Device not configured)
Is it the same thing ?? hmm
